I am not going to the track with this bike so I am going to be pratical this season and put general purpose tires on my bike. I have decided to go with the Avon Roadriders. This bike doesn't do 150 mph but the tires are cheaper and they are Z rated. Plus I like the tread design they should be pretty decent in the rain.

Anyone else gone to a general purpose.

So do you have an opinion yet on the Avon Roadriders? I am thinking of getting them. Did you stick with the OEM sizes?

So far I think they are really good. I liked the tread design and supposedly being general purpose I think they are better then the Metzellers that came on the bike and yes I went with the OEM size the front tire is actually a universal tire.

I like the tread design also the true test of these tires will be this summer when I can see how many miles I can get out of them.

The price was right on them and I was talking to the guy at the shop while he was mounting and ballancing them and he was impressed. He was stating that you can tell the well designed tires are the ones that he doesn't have to change the ballance weight.

These tires he didn't have to touch the ballance weight at all he said they were perfect.

Avon made this so called general purpose tire with a Z rating.
What general purposes would require you to go 150+ mph are beyond me lol :-D

So the answer is so far I am very satisfied, but then again I only have 200 miles on them so far.

I have faith in AVON though, they are a good company.

I'm fairly new to the moto game, but with my car, even if i'm not on the track, anything less than max performance road tires are disappointing. I'm going with pilot powers this summer.

Max performance tires are designed usually around bikes with 150 hp and are only designed to last about 3500 miles.

I don't know what you use your bike for, but it's a little excessive for me.

I have run with some pretty fast guys on stock Thrux tires. I would want to improve my suspension before I need more grip.

Good luck with your Avons and let us know how they do mileage wise.
