The set I bought was listed for 250...I sent a message asking the seller to hook a brother up and he sold to me for 200.

Talk to them....

Mine were $230 plus shipping. I looked for about a month, I thought I was going to get away with 150, but the last 5 min, some j-a$$ bid me up. That's eBay. It is my next mod, just have to stop riding for a day!

Hello all,

Please indulge me as I'm in the group here that is slowly learning to wrench on my own bike. I've read over the past couple years all about the F3 forks and how well they perform. My question is, what is it that makes these forks so great?

Coming from a 1970 Triumph Trophy, the Thruxton is obviously a far superior ride to me. Thus, when I hear about how badly the stock suspension is, I have a hard time comparing as I've not ridden anything better than the Thruxton. I accept that the stock setup leaves much to be desired and as time and finances permit, hope to modify my suspension amongst other things.

Lastly, is this the link below what we'd be looking for?

Ebay Link

Thanks for any input...

-Markus

Yes that link is what your after. The f3 fork's are so much better because of the internals and the ability to adjust the dampening and rebound.

Mind you you have to take the fork's apart to change the shim stack out on the valves, but the cartridge's are superior to what we have in our stock forks.

Those appear to be the right forks. As for what makes them better if I understand right the stock thruxton fork uses a hole of a fixed size that oil flows threw as it travels up and down. since the size of the hole is fixed the rate of flow can't be increase or decreased to suit differant sizes and speeds of bump being hit. meaning that a small hole is good for a bump that compresses the fork slow but make a fast bump harsh because the oil is restricted. a larger hole would better for the fast bump but would give no effective damping during slower compressions. With the f3 forks the damping is controled by a set of shims that flex. when you hit a slow bump there is little presure on them so they open only a little but when you hit a sharp bump there is more pressure so they open and flow more so you get consitant damping for any kindof bump. Going with the gold valves is supposed to allow you to change the shims out to suit how much damping you like pesonaly. At least that is how it was explaned to me. hope that helps

It seems to me, that the Race Tech emulators would be the way to go. If the F3 forks aren't externally adjustbable, what is the advantage?

Suspension Info and specifically How a cartridge fork works and the Emulators.
Hope these help.

I've heard great thing about this mod - will any year F3 work?

Has anybody just done the progressive springs from New Bonnie? Results?
