Who has fitted an EBC floating disc to their Thruxton.

Can anyone confirm if the correct reference number for EBC Pro lite disc is MD629LS, as stated in the British Customs catalogue. If not, what is the correct reference number?

Seems to me that several members of our forums need a reminder about the cross-posting rules.

why would this be any better than the stock disc? I have one for sale in the classifieds, but it's for a bonnie.

Sweat,
Because the floating disc is able to move from side to side a little, it automatically centers between the brake pads. This gives the rider better initial bite on the brakes and less lever travel. The brakes feel a little less spongy and provide better feel. I rode my floating disc bike side-by-side with another member's bike. I noticed the difference right away and so did he.

Back to B&C Express again - I had already asked them about this last August. Tracey says:-

"EBC list a Triumph Thruxton 900 year 04-06 part number MD629LS "

I understand what a floating disc does, thanks.

Why would you want to replace the STOCK FLOATING DISC on a Thruxton with an aftermarket floating disc that's no better?!?

Hi sweatmachine

EBC claim up to 18% improvement in braking performance with these disc's, which is why I'm giving it a try. I believe the ENC disc is fully floating rather than semi floating for the stock item. I've already fitted the EBC sintered pads to my stock caliper, which should give good performance with their disc.
