On the Bella Corse website, the fork brace notes that it is not compatible on a Thruxton stock fender, however, I have seen pics in the album of them installed. Were any mods necessary to fit to a Thrux or is the site wrong? I like the look of the Bella Corse one over the British Customs one.

Bump

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

Is there a Thruxton specific fork brace?

The norman hyde brace will fit the Thruxton forks just fine. Bella Corse may say its not compatible because it doesn't snug up against the fender as it does on a Bonny. Norman Hyde's website does indicate the brace fits the Thrux.
I played around with an aftermarket fender, but the airtech fender is for a bonny's 19-inch front wheel...Thruxton is 18, just couldn't find a way to get it to look right and have a secure mount.
Anyways, I wanted the added rigidity of a fork brace and I'm using the stock fender for now. Here's the result:

About 3/8 inch gap between fender and brace.
I'm trying to think up something creative for a replacement fender... :brk:

BTW, newbonneville.com lists the norman hyde brace for a few bucks less than bella corse.

Thats where I saw it tabletop. Looks good to me. How did you get those silly plastic fork protectors off of the lower legs?

I'm told you can carefully score them with a utility knife, then gently pry/pull them off.

Mine were removed when the forks were apart for revalving (just slipped them off.)

The brace is two pieces (I think newbonn or bellacorse says it a single block of aluminum...it may have started life that way but it's two hunks when you get it) and goes together with 4 bolts -2 on one side, 2 on the other.

Isnt the fender bracket also the fork brace. Why would you need both?

Fender bracket really just holds the fender.
It doesn't hold the forks tightly enough and is alot more flexible than a fork brace.
Forks will twist, particularly when cornering. They're just long hollow tubes, held at one end, that have alot of force exerted on the free-hanging end. A fork brace provides added rigidity and stability to the front end in the twisties.

If you can bend that fender bracket - well then you are the man!

I personally need to get a fork brace. I switched the fender and no longer have the bracket. But for over $200.00 I thin those braces are ridiculous to say the least. There has to be a cheaper version out there dont you think?

My 2 cents worth. I found the Thrux fork/fender bracket adequate as a brace rather than simply a fender mounting bracket. There is certainly a difference if you remove it. My feeling is that the NH and other braces were intended for the Bonnie as they don't use the steel Thrux brace. But if it works for you on the Thrux go ahead.
I'm trying to fabricate a new front fender and part of the plan is to include a more substantial fork custom brace. I don't want to use the available bolt on ones as I think they're either too expensive or too ugly. My starting point is a Zephyr front fender mould ('cause it was the best available fit) and we'll see what happens. At the moment I'm going with a custom steel brace (yes I know it's heavy unsprung mass) but a thicker and lighter aluminium component wouldn't fit due to the lack of space.
