Does anybody's wife ever ride behind on their Thruxton? I'd like her to ride with me some, (not a lot : "> ) but I'd like for her to at least enjoy herself somewhat. I was looking at a Corbin seat for a Bonnie, with a backrest. Will Bonnie seats fit? I know it'd totally blow the look of the bike, but it wouldn't be real often...Or will she be alright on the stock seat. I don't want her to feel like she's gonna slide off the back...Or do I? :lgh: Anyway, what kind of experiences have you guys had?

BTW, she won't even consider a bike of her own, so don't bother bringing that idea up.

I got the Triumph grab rail setup for my T100 that I use even with my solo seat. When my GF and I want to go for a ride longer than just to town, I switch to the stock dual seat and exchange the grab rail for a tall Triumph Sissy Bar (they both use the same mounting loop on the frame). I more than make up for the loss of looks by making the experience more secure for my girl. The switch only takes five or six minutes, so it's not a bad arrangement...

Mrs. Motley rides with me quite often. Stock seat, no grabrail, no sissybar. At first she was a little uncomfortable as my last bike had a Mustang wide seat and sissybar with pad.

The biggest problem, until she got used to things, was sliding off the raised rear portion onto the lower riders seat with me. She used to fall asleep on the previous bike but now she just holds onto me, makes things a little more intimate.

The other problem is playin' footsie. She has to remember to put the balls of her feet only on the footpegs. If she places the arch of her feet on the pegs then there's no room for my feet on my pegs. It's the only downside to the rearsets I guess.

I just take the seat cowl off. Taken her on some rather twisty roads and well past the ton with no adverse reactions from her. The stock seat is just fine.

The seats are interchangable, so a king&queen or gunfighter&lady will fit. I've taken my girlfriend for a ride many times, the stock seat is fairly comfortable. Try with the stock seat. If it's just an occassional ride, a touring seat may not be necessary.
My only issue is the tendency of my girlfriend to slide forward. I just got a grab rail, which I hope will correct that.

My wife rides with me all the time. No grab rail because the seating posture with have her leaning forward just a bit. But I would recommend getting the offset pegs. Mage a huge difference.

You will have to ask Brent to special order them I think.

For short 1 hour or less rides stock seat should be fine. I take my girl around on a weekly basis and shes fine.

I take this little miss around from time to time. As others said the seat makes little difference as far as comfort goes.

She is always going to be leaning over if she has to grab on to you which makes for a slightly awkward riding position.

My better half is pretty small and constantly slides down onto the lower portion of the seat with me which turns braking into my own personal rendition of the nutcracker.

Thanks for all the advice. I was hoping you guys would say that. I want her to be comfy and all, but I don't really want the bike to look dorky in the process. I don't really expect her to ride much...this being my first street bike and all, I don't really think she trusts me much :-D I don't really trust myself a whole lot with added weight right now, but I just like to know what to expect.
