When I first saw Robnobrakes setup, I knew I wanted to do the same.

To keep the option of going back to stock, I got a s/h Bonnie rear 'guard from Jack Lilley, marked it up with masking tape and took a grinder to it. finished off with a hand file and some emery cloth.

Here it is back from powder coating;

And mounted on the bike;

I made up a simple bracket from aluminium plate to mate the 'guard to the bracket that comes with the LED tail light. I got a curve in it to fit the underside of the 'guard by making a series of bends and then lightly hammering over my workshop fire extinguisher;

The finished result;

Nice job Lindsay! I'm especially impressed with the little lip you've created. How did you do that? Good to hear you giving credit to Rob - it's the right thing to do. BTW, where are you going to put your indicators?

Nice. Very clean. I like the led. Makes the bike a little more modern. Plus the lights are a little brighter.

Thanks for all your feedback.

Fast Fashion - Yep Bonnie mudguard is steel, around half of it ends up being discarded, but I was keen to keep the standard set up untouched ' just in case'

Setts - How are your 6 pots doing? Haven't been out on the Pre-Techs yet... its snowing!! No indicators will be fitted. I have been running the Ducati long enough on a daylight only MOT (no lights, no indicators - it is used almost exclusively for track days) that I have gotten out of the habit. I will be looking over my shoulder a lot and doing hand signals. There is no problem with the law - if indicators are fitted they must work. If they are not fitted it is OK. Some places like you to stick a piece of tape over the switch but thats no biggie. My MOT guy told me that since the Ducati is daylight only that I don't strictly speaking need to have a brake light - that WOULD be crazy/suicidal, but I think it is safe enough without indicators. It really cleans up the lines of the bike too.

Sorry guys - there is no lip. It may be a trick of the light in the photo's or it is just where I chose to cut has given the effect that you are seeing.

Wish I could take credit for being smarter than I am..........
