Yesterday I rode my bike back from the local Triumph dealer here for service, on looking at it today I see this;

Is this from too much oil?

The bike was cold and on the kickstand when this picture was taken.

If it is from overfill, what kind of damage am I looking at?

Yeah, I just looked at it again, when I stand the bike up straight and look through the oil window, it's completely full.

I think I'm getting p@$#&* off.

See those two little indicators cast next to the window? Evidently,your dealer can`t. Thats what mine looks like on the sidestand,but standing upright,it sure doesn`t go to the top of the window and stay there. It also doesn`t pour down the side of the block. :evil:

That might simply be excess chain lube that has flung off behind the drive sprocket cover. Take the cover off, clean up the mess and see if the seal around the shaft is leaking, I doubt it though. What you have there is from over-lubing the chain I'll bet.

Yeah Motley I'm an idiot, thats what it was, chain lube, and it's all over the bike.

I took the bike in for what I thought was a 2500 mile service only to find out that a service wasn't scheduled till 4-6k but it was to cold to ride the 30miles back to my house so I left it there for them to check out.

They said they changed the oil but that was it. I'm pretty bike dumb which is one of the reasons I bought a Thruxton, so I can work on it and learn but still have someone qualified to check it out on reg service times.

So when I saw fluid leaking down the side of my motor and the last thing done to it was an oil change, I kinda freaked out especially after reading stuff in the past about the Thrux/Bonnies sometimes getting overfilled with oil.

When I first got the bike I thought that to until i did further investigation and removed the sprocket cover. Everyone make mistakes live and learn. :hammer: :hammer:
