So how wide is it safe to go on the Thruxton stock rear rim.

Rob,

You can run 150mm from several manufacturers. Dunlop, Bridstone. Most have a chart that specs the tires and what rims they will work on. I had 150 BTO20 on the back for a while.

Thanks John

How did the bike handle with the 150 rear?

What size front tyre were you running with the 150 rear?

Rob all my front tires where 110 except the GT501's which could only be had in 100. Handling with the bigger tires is very good as far as grip - turn in was affected by wider tires and also different profiles. Sometimes better (faster is better for me) sometimes worse. Of course all the bigger tires can affect gearing, speedo readings, add unsprung weight ( not good) and more flywheel effect on the engine (could be good or bad depending on your riding style). They sure look good though and inspire confidence in the corners.
