I have noticed that some of you have replaced or modified the original tank badges. Are they the standard ones from the 68 catalog or can you modify the original thruxton one and just have the letters? Any suggestions?

I believe if you can take the "Triumph" part off of the stock badges then I believe people double sidedtape them down. Much cheaper than buying the $100 '68 badges but the stock ones are a little smaller.

You'll have to fill in the screw holes and have it re-painted first. The inset "Triumph" is much smaller than the stock mounting holes.

rbrian_taylor - you can buy different style badges from dealers that will swap right on to your ride. You will need a tamper-proof torx bit (tool) to remove the stock bolts, and they are available at your local auto parts store for less than $10 (complete set).
