Has anyone one customized their seat and retained the original seat pan? I know there were posts in the past, but I had trouble finding them. Thanks.

lol

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the thread subject. :hammer:

Thrux181, just make sure you have a tank pad to protect your tank and everything will be fine. :-D

Of course! You can even pull back the stock cover, and scrape out/shape the foam and restaple the stock cover.

Seems like a lot of guys are sending their seats to Sargent (sp?) in Florida.

What are you wanting to do to the seat? More comfort? Custom design?

Sorry guys, I guess I should have said hacking. So far I have ripped off the stock foam and replaced is with ensolite from a military sleeping pad. I also left a space under the rear cowl for storage. It has lowered me and is more firm. I can also more around on the seat better. PS hope there are no innuendos in this one.

blue-thrux, Got questions. Is that the original seat cover, what type of foam did you use and what did you use to cut and reshape the foam. It looks good and about the right thickness if it is firm enough. Thanks
