How many run Heli bars on a Thruxton? I emailed Heli and asked about buying a set but lower then the 4 3/4 inch rise. I would like to see a set with the bars just over the top of the triple clamp, not something looking like the old "Z" bars! Any thoughts on this?

I run Heli_bars on my Thruxton.

I tried the OEM clip ons for a couple of weeks prior to the switch. I loved the way they looked and if C5,C6 and C7 in my neck weren't just a tad right of center I would still be using the factory bars. Unfortunately the pain in my neck got the best of me.

The Heli's are high quality and a very easy install.
In my opinion a 3" vs a 4.75" is a moot point as I expect they will whack you good for the shorter "one-off" bars should they decide to do them.

BUy a nice set of stock Heli's and spend you time riding not worrying about an inch or so of metal.

If you cut your fork covers by an inch, you can drop the helibars an inch, too.
