some of you guys asked me for pics of my bike in the sun light, here you are, BRG in sharp sun light though I prefer this color in soft light.

Yeah - that looks great. II like the Union Jack decal with that green as a background. Looks like you've also done something to the are around the indicator lights and speedo/tach - is that area black? The swept back pipes look really cool - do you like 'em?

I think I'll paint mine over the winter with BRG as the base and add some stripes or the classic looking scalloping.

Nice. I have a few questions:
1. Did you just buy entirely new blacked out engine covers? Or just paint the originals

2. What header pipers and exhausts are those?

Very nice bike.

Hi sweatmachine,
yes those are stock mirrors, very easy and chip mod. Here is how I did that. Supports shape you can change in your own way but remember about a shim you have to cut for the right bar end. Mirrors work perfect.

Hi TonyThruxton,
original engine covers were just powder coated black, I got coarse surface.
The headers and mufflers are from Raask Sweden, great sound.

Ratcat - nice looking machine - and a great idea on the bar end mirrors. JCW

Hey ratcat,

I've just done your bar-end mirror mod and it seems to be the biz.
I cut the brackets out of some spare 3mm stainless and drilled them to 5mm (counter-sunk - for the allen screws into the bars) and 10mm (to take the M10-fine bolts for the mirror stalks). Rear visibility is much improved, as are the line of the bike in my opinion. Also, there seems to be a near total absence of mirror shake now and reduced grip vibration.
You're a star - thanks. :upthumb:

NB - I've put a link to this thread in the Triumph Twin Mod Links Page. I hope that's okay.

Sure thing....

L: I just used the end weight and the mirror stalk as templates and estimated the distance between the two.
R: Having drilled the holes and roughly shaped them on a bench grinder, I bolted the brackets together and shaped them with a file to ensure they were identical.

L: Just about ready for smoothing - but I still need to even up the curve at the tops.
R: Fitted. Between the bolt head and the bracket, I re-used the spring-washer from the bottom of the stalks where they had been bolted through the lever mounts. I'll try to find a couple of lower profile stainless bolts later (a pair of rounded allen bolts would be good).

This is how they look on the bike with the Mbars

I know they don't look quite as clean as ratcat's but I'll tidy them up when I find more time. Overall, though, they seem to do the job admirably.
