I made this tail light setup on a milling machine. The tail light assembly is made up of 4 separate machined aluminum parts. Totally unnecessary for the purpose of function, but I wanted a tail light bracket that enclosed the wires to keep them hidden from view. The tail light assembly weighs about 1/2 pound. The pieces are all hollowed out as much as possible, but only the holes in the license plate bracket show. I painted the back of my license plate black for good contrast. The whole thing mounts to the stock rear fender mounts. The wires pass up through a grommeted hole drilled in the rear frame cross piece. The resistors let the Kellermanns (or any future LED blinkers I might want) blink at normal speed. The license plate is angled about 30° with the ground, giving it a sporty look, but still maintaining half the projected viewing area of a perfectly vertical plate. The LED tail light can be removed/replaced without cutting wires, because I used Japanese style bullet connectors for all my modifications, with a mini wiring harness created from the stock rear fender connector/wires snipped off my original fender.

Here is the wiring:

Resistors with bracket which mounts to plastic fender piece with two 3mm socket cap screws:

Brackets for Kellermann signals, which bolt to the inside threads of the top shock mount holes:

That is a talented set up. Congratulation on this machining exercise of beauty. May the God's of Newport be with you.

Are you setup to copy this in small "mass" quantities? There is a market for this setup and talented skill. Keep we plebes informed. :-D
