hey now......
I'm planning on relocating guage plate under triple clamp this week, as some of you already have. Thanks for the idea by the way! I love free mods. Anyway, besides replacing the acorn nuts under the guage cups with flat ones, were there any other issues that I should be aware of??? muchas gracias mi amigos.
Neil (unfortunately not the Neil that's been pinstriping all those t100's!) :-D

I wish I could remember... I did a few things at once, like making new headlight ear mounts so I could lower my clip-ons. I know I kept moving different things (cables, lines & wires) up, down & around until it all fit how I liked it, but I think that had as much to do with my new ear mounts & lower clip-ons as it did with moving the plate. I think you'll need to make a couple little spacers to help the plate clear that "hump" that's built into it? The thickness you make the spacers will determine the angle the plate will sit at, thus how much or little (or no) clearance you'll have between the gauge cups & the headlight. I think. Hopefully somebody else has done this without being in the middle of doing other things up there too. I say just give it a try & see what you can do with it. just don't cut or bend anything unless you're sure about it & you can always put it right back to how it was. It's just nuts & bolts, have fun!

thanks for the reply. I'll keep the spacers in mind. Did you or anyone else use anything to plug the remaining holes topside??

I went to the local hardware store and bought four new longer ( I think they were inch and a half) hex head stainless bolts and appropriate hardware (lock washers, flat nuts) to attach the plate on the bottom side. It looks like it should have came that way.

cheers, jason

If you need to move your headlight down, you may be able to do so by reversing the mounts as they are asymmetric.
