Does anyone have any good suggestions/links to replace the stock chain guard on Thruxton?

I know I can just do without one, but again, my overly protective mechanic wont let me.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

I agree - I am not fond of the look of the chain guard. I want to get rid of mine. I am not concerned with safety, but I don't want chain oil spraying all over my bike. I already get a little spray on the rear rim. One other option might be cutting away some of the stock chain guard to minimize its visual impact, but still retain some protection from oil fling-off. Can anyone recommend a type of chain lube (wax, maybe??) that would allow complete removal of the guard while keeping the bike relatively clean?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I already saw the ones with the holes. Not sure. I think with the stock heel plate (which I really like) i will look to hole-y back there.

As for the 'me and my friends' post. I actually sent them a PM and that one is home made and they can't make me one.

Anyway, the search continues.

Seems like you could make one of those yourself: bent piece of metal of any fitting size; straight strips of metal bent into brackets; bolt holes to hold it together; maybe a welder to weld the brackets to the guard itself?

I just pulled mine. I've had some lube slung onto the underside of the fender.
