Marketing, gentlemen. The people in the marketing department always no what THEIR customers want. Just look at the Guzzi or the Honda automatic transmission bikes of the 1970's as an indication of the marketing guys knowing exactly what their customers are seeking.
Holy cow flops, Jazzman. Marketeers ALWAYS know what the customer really needs, just like any government agency.
What the Triumph boys need to do is expand their accessory line of parts to compete with the likes of New Bonneville and the others who offer up quality parts and most are reasonably priced. All they have to do is log on to one of the aftermarket suppliers, see what they offer, do the same with quality parts, and meet or beat the price.
There is gold in the accessory business. Ask any car dealer and he will tell you there is 500 to 1000 % mark up in many items.
