I am a fan of Bates Leathers (pricey but worth the investment)(Mine are well worn-crashed, repaired & purchased in the early 1970's) . They are very well made. First gear is also top notch. I do not wear styling and filing leather. Protection leather is what I want and use. Top Gear may not be in business any longer, but they make very high end "combat" leathers.
If you want leather to go to dinner with your wife or girl friend, go to Macy's or to any leather hawker on the Internet.
If you want armor leather, go with the manufactures that have been in the racing leather manufacturing business for several score of years. The protection of the high end products is worth every dollar spent. Crash once and tell me the difference . :-D

. I have gone down several times over the past fifty years, broken bones, dislocated various body parts, and can still walk and talk and chew gum at the same time. Always buy the most quality leather armor that you can afford. I know, Preaching again.
