Anyone know how much 2" wrapping it takes for one header pipe?

To beat the dead horse more, if I wrap the pipes, does that mean I am biker or a poser or someone who thinks it is cool?

I don't think anyone will care whether or not you wrap your headers. I wrapped mine, it helped the bike run better in cold weather, I like the way it looks. I don't care what other people's opinions of it are.

One 50' roll of the 2" wrap will do both headers with a good 10' or so to spare.

My bike below. By the way, if you use black wrap and want to keep it black, make sure to get the coating spray for it. I intentionally didn't coat it because I wanted it to fade a bit -- but as it happens, it fades a LOT. In this pic you can see the light grey at the top of the header; in the meantime it's faded almost completely, plus it's gotten a little dirty, so it looks like the regular beige-colored wrap now. Which is fine; if I get sick of it I can remove and rewrap.

Oh, also -- when you start the bike for the first time after wrapping the headers, the wrap will smoke like crazy. Don't worry about it; it's normal. Just ride it for a few miles and it'll stop smoking (until you get caught in the rain, when it'll steam like crazy).

Hey Mark,I ordered wrap for my 2 into 1 piping. I got the copper coated Thermo Tek,some ss clamps and a couple cans of the copper spray.I`ll just be doing the area starting at the clamps, the new pipe and up the can to the weld. Should add a bit o color on an almost too black bike. :-D

The biker/poser statement is just poking fun at the other thread. I could care less what people think.

Mark, Where did you get your wrap from? JCW has some that looks ok.

spraypaint works on the wrap too if you want it to stay black, just gotta re-apply every so often

I think I got the Thermo-Tec stuff from Summit Racing. But I'm sure the JCW stuff would be fine as well -- in fact, they may carry the Thermo-Tec wrap too.

One thing -- make sure you remove the AI before you wrap the headers, if you haven't done so already. The AI-superheated exhaust combined with header insulation could make the engine run awfully hot.
