hmmmmm..poser?

That would be the jackhole with a fresh tattoo & a Nazi brain bucket on a new Sportster that tries to talk s**t
to me at the stoplight while I am riding my Vespa for no reason at all..

I then ask if he has ever had his a** kicked by a guy on a moped?....usually ending with a comment like "I like your wifes bike." :horns:

I think there are a million levels of dedication to riding, & different motivations......I just like the fact that a lot of responsible people choose to ride.

tham: last post was funny!

Actually, there are no "real" bikers on the forums, they are all out riding.

So, we're all just wannbes and posers over here.

Gentlemen, The term Biker Congers up the likeness of Marlin Brando (Marlin Brand flakes) And His MOVIE role in the 1950's MOVIE The Wild One. :roflmoa2: Now to editorialize, These BIKER'S were Hollywood Clowns. There are several types of motorcycle riders. This of course puts us in a class.
#1 is the sport bike riders, going fast :-D :-D :-D .Next is the everyday riders, who ride just for the ride-to work or what ever. Next is the weekend riders who ride any and all brands of motorcycles, only on weekends for grins and fun. :-D Next is the cruiser types that go from cafe bar to cafe bar, and do a lot of profiling. Last but not least are the IRON BUTT marathon types who are the enginerzer bunny types. Then there are the guy's like me and my bud's who will ride any time any place for 600 miles because it is fun. Rain or shine, the smiles are to large to define. :-D
Gentlemen. Let us not put down those of us that ride different brands, styles, comfort zones. The Hell's Angle Types can not catch me any way. And if the did, I would have and field of fire position set up, and would ask GOD to sort it all out. :-D

I got to think'n the other day 'bout them fools in their wannabe 'outlaw' motorcycle clubs. You know who I'm talking about, got the scowl going on, an attitude, a bunch of idiots riding in angry/LOUD groups.... whatever, more power to 'em.

Anyway, I have a couple buddies who fancy themselves "bikers", as they belong to the type of group I spoke of above. They have their little meetings, put on the annual fund raiser, ride together occasionally to another club's function, and ride maybe an hour away to a bar, then to another bar, and maybe two MORE bars...... all within a radius of a hundred miles at most. That's what they do, that's ALL they do!

I (on the other hand) ride to the foothills having not to answer to anybody nor to some "club". I get on the bike and ride a couple hundred miles to the coast, to a distant gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts, a Poker Run, or an hour away on a Friday night just to listen to some Blues at a brewery somewhere.

I don't have to ride coupled up with another "brother" as we motor down the road sporting our 'colors'. I'm not obligated to throw back some JD with fellow scary wannabe motorcycle gang members. I don't have to attend the monthly AMA meeting, the club meeting, or "required attendance" function....... I run my own, I simply don't hafta ANYTHING!

Anywaaaaay, this is what I was thinking as I shared the road with a new friend on his KTM Adventurer, or with a buddy as we rode together through the "Gold Country" of Central California, or that ABATE Poker Run a couple hours away from home, or even chatting it up with the couple on their Gold Wing at a little steak house along the Sacramento River.....
I was thinking....... thank GOD I don't belong to a motorcycle club, either "outlaw", "HOG", "Bikers for Jesus", "Blue Knights", or 'Black Widows'.....
because belonging to a motorcycle club would get in the way of my being able to ride my bike anywhere I like, and as often as I want.

Am I "Biker"? Yes.... and thank God, HELL NO!
I AM a 'Free Rider', riding wherever, whenever, and with whomever I want.

All That Fattrat said, That is a mouthfull of great observations of life. Read my reply at the end of this linc.

A biker owns a bike and rides when he/she can.

A poser doesnt own a bike, wears the gear and talks alot of sh@t.

If you ride because you love to be on two wheels, regardless of make or model, and show the same respect to others that do the same, you are good to go. If you are one of those people that say for example: "If you dont ride a (fill in the blank) you aint sh#t!" as you look down your nose at the other guy, then you are just another dumbass that probably dont need to be sharing the same road as me.

If it has two wheels and a motor and makes you happy, then you are a biker as far as I am concerned.
