I was visually scanning my bike yesterday to familiarize myself with the setup and noticed a semi-large two wired connector hanging between my carbs. I figure it's probably something that goes to a different model but was just in the wiring harness since I didn't see anything it would go to but figured I would check with you guys. It traces to the right side side panel (fuse box side) and goes into the bikes harness.

Anyone know what it's for? I would like to remove it but wanted to check before I chop.

Thanks
Stu

Maybe you should just tape it up instead of removing it? You should, however, at least tape it up. I think that's the plug that got into my throttle assembly and caused it to occasionally stick.

The wiring harness fits a variety of bikes, so is probably a connector not used. I checked one against a wiring diagram and could not find it anywhere. Still, I taped and tucked it out of the way rather than removing.

I have been working in the automotive industry for longer than I will admit. It is not uncommon for OEM manufactures to have miscellaneous wiring connectors to be hanging out in the breeze. If it is not in your wiring diagram, tape it shut and hide it away somewhere. Absolutely do not cut it out of the main wiring harness. Leave it alone. This just might be the ADL connector you need to scan the ECM or other electrical issues. Respectively yours, Steve Du Bose, Gear head at large, The Norton's Will Rise Again. Thank you for your time.
