I like these Rizoma grips and am wondering if they would work on our Thruxtons?

I sent off a question to the seller, who responded:

"I apologize for not knowing the Thruxton. Most bikes with larger than 7/8 r 22mm bars are tapered to those sizes at the grips and throttle assemblies. I don't believe that the Rizoma grips would fit a larger bar."

The Thruxton bars are 1-inch, aren't they?

Mancha - you need to quit surfing the WWW and stop finding ways for me to spend my money. Those would look perfect on the thruxton. I like the whole set-up -grips, levers, reservoir. JCW

I (!!!) need to stop finding ways for YOU to spend your money?! Until you pointed out the $500 tachometer I was perfectly happy with the stock Thruxton gauges. :-D And your oil filter still haunts me.

Anyway, looks like you've got your reservoir needs licked.

I agree, the whole set-up looks great. I've already ordered the grips (in gold). I really like the levers, but suspect I'm going to have to settle for having the stock ones powder-coated (next winter's project).

By the way, I think I stumbled across the grips on the S3 forum. Those guys have good taste.

Mancha - The grips state they work in the existing throttle housing. Is this something that will work on the Thrux or will you need to do some fabricating?? JCW

Neither the Rizoma site nor PJ's, from whom I'm buying them, mentions anything about which specific bikes these work with. I'm ASSUMING that they're universal. Looking at the picture (inserted below), it looks like they are:

As I recall of throttle assemblies, there's an inside depression in which the wide part (the ring) of the inside part of the throttle travels, and the cable locks into the throttle. I would hope that the most fabricating I would have to do would be decreasing the thickness of that wide ring.

But who knows?!
