Just wondering if any of you have had your knee down on a Thruxton.

It's a sportyish ride and probably capable if the rider is up to it.
Just wondering in case I'm ever capable, be nice to do on something other than a sportsbike too.

Yup. The Thrux has some ground clearance issues, so hanging off is critical to really hustling the bike around.

Here is a link to some track pictures from a couple weeks ago: clicky

Nice pics thanks......I've had the sidestand scraping the ground a couple of times, wonder if anyone has cut down the sticky out bit that catches on the stand.

What tires do you have on there....standard Metzlers?

Wang,

What kind of tires were you running there?

Those were the stock Metzelers. They are actually quite grippy and long-lived, but I think that the compound gets a little hard after they've been cooked a few times.

Had mine over on the edge of the stock Metz and zing! Low side...luckily, just 30 mph or so. Snapped the tip off of the shifter. Just drilled a new mount on the lever and ran a bolt through the peg and viola!
Now I have a 180 rear...
These things are great in the turns...
