I mounted up some of these Avons and took them to trackday yesterday. I used sizes 110/80-R18 and 140/80-R17. The rear is taller, the front is shorter, and the profile is much more "pointy" than stock so, predictably, the bike feels much lighter and steers much quicker than it did with the stock tires. It was 35*F in the morning sessions on a track that is notoriously slick in the morning, and the tires were brand new (peeled the stickers off them that morning) so I wasn't able to really get a taste of the available traction until after lunch. In the afternoon they really started to hook up well, and even though I wasn't pushing them very hard (still a little gun-shy after my recent lowside) I figure that they will offer more than adequate grip for most applications. The most obvious improvements would have to be in steering response and, to a lesser extent, ground clearance. After I get some street miles on them, I'll update this post with more opinions but, for now they seem to be a viable alternative to the OEM Metzelers.
