The addition of a 19 tooth countershaft sprocket was a success. :hammer: Testing to commence shortly. JCW

John, did you stick with the 525 size or go to 520 to save a bit of weight? I hope you enjoy the 19t as much as I do. Steve

Looking sweet!

I'll bee changing my chain out in a week or two, and have been wondering about different front sprocketts. What are the advantages/disadvantages to going up a tooth or two?

Looking forward to your test report!

Randy, the ONLY downside I experienced was having to use the clutch an extra nanosecond to get moving.I`ve never had a problem riding in the mountains or two-up. I did it early enough to not know what acceleration I may be missing from the 17t.I like loping along at 70-80mph.I always have a gear for every situation, get 50+mpg riding hard and feel like I`m prolonging the bikes life by not revving the snot out of it...Results may vary.My bike is very nearly stock,so hopped up bikes like F-Rats would scream and never notice an extra tooth. :-D

I like your sprocket cover thrux-ton-up. How'd you carve that chunk out? Dremel tool, or something more sophisticated?

Mancha - much more sophisticated - a hack saw, drill and small rat tail file. JCW

Roadburner,

Did you go to the 18 or 19? Looks like stock is 17 (?).

My bike is near stock as well; BC exhaust and a slightly different jetting (not sure what my dealer changed them to...). Everything else is in place.

I've been seeing about 35-40 mpg. Calif. fuel probably has a part to play in that...

Thanks!
