Ok this one is for all the guys that their wives or girlfriends found out the cowl comes off the back seat. I noticed off the bat my wife's foot gets in the way of my heal if she puts her foot in the standard position.
She winds up riding on her tippy-toes the whole time and suffers from it on a 20+ min ride.

So I was left with 3 options, 1: Buy her a bike 2: Buy a Rocket III 3: Find something else other than a stock peg.
I opted with 3 since it's the cheaper route. I've been playing around with a few floorboards I fab'ed myself but haven't been coming up with anything I like or functions right.

I stumbled on http://www.kuryakyn.com and found something that looks like it may work.

First a triumph peg adapter:

Second a Male Mount Lockable Offset (To move the foot back some.)

Last but not least a Peg with heal support:

Anyone got any thought or suggestions on this please pipe up.

Buy your wife a bike!

None of the options above are going to fit in with the Thruxton. Remember it's a cafe racer which can carry a passenger as a bonus.

I had my Thruxton for 3 months before my wife got her Bonnie, and she already had her own bikes!

Alternatively:

Get her feet shortened,
Get her to ride with her legs round your waist,
Get your legs modified to clear her feet,
Don't take her anywhere more than 20 minutes away,
Get her to stop whining,
Ignore her whining,
Etc.

Pete.

P.S. If your wife reads this, It wasn't me.

LSL sells these adapters which move the pegs back and up a little - designed for bonnies and thrux's. JCW

Pete forgot to mention... having her knees removed. That'd of course require having a lot of tailoring. But nevertheless is an option.

To me, the real beauty of motorcycling is the time it gives you to be alone. In this world of instant messaging, cellular can you hear me now?, emails, beepers, total connectivity... doesn't anyone just want to be alone and enjoy the sound of a motorcycle and the feel of the bike beneath you, and only you. Boy I know I do. Who on earth invented the two-up seat anyway?! I hope he spends eternity on a moped making power on every third stroke with a 400lb version of his mother-in-law seated on the pillon screaming into his hears about the way he "drives".

This rant brought to you by the fact that my band sucked last night.

I think I found the solution;

With out the spiky ends. The Pillion rear sets look like they might well work but the exchange rate + shipping doesn't make it a very good deal.

@Pete
Wow, I think thats a first.... Body Modification vs the bike.

My V-7 is a gentleman's motorcycle designed for tow up. :-D My Commando "S" is designed for solo use ONLY. Says so in the owners manual on page one. I took the passenger pegs off over three decades ago and have not looked back. :yayyy: :chug:
