I don't have one yet but it is on order and should be here wed. I'll post when I get mine on and if you are still having problems, I'd be more than willing to help. If you get yours on, let me know the trick!

The fasteners that come with the Head Lite Stone Guard are garbage, period. If you can figure it out, I seriously doubt they would secure the thing at speed. I went with a 'Shade Tree' engineering with a strap set up made from velcro. It doesn't look too bad but there ultimately has to be a better.

I actually got the stock clips to work, but a alight slap from any side made the whole thing come apart like a house of cards. This stoneguard must be one use only. Anyway, took the whole thing off and will figure out something better. If you got any ideas, let me know. I will post back when I figure something out.

I never cared for the clips myself. And being from a city known for pilfering, I decided to use safety wire to secure mine.

Here's my solution....'Velcro'. This will hold up and not blow away. Tested at over 100mph, not even a shake....

Yeah, I'm gonna liberate some safety wire from work and install it this weekend. I haven't taken the headlight apart yet and I am wondering what ya'll are saftying to? I was thinking of just mounting the guard directly to the light and saftying it around the back, then putting it back in the housing. Will this work? Please let me know how ya'll have it wired.

yep, took off the light and safetied to the bracket just inside. I safetied from the 11 and 1 o'clock positions to the top and the 5 and 7 o'clock positions to the bottom. Works like a charm, solid as a rock.

I am sooooooo close to throwing the whole headlight assembly and stone guard against my garage floor right now trying to get this piece of junk securely on there......If you velcro, zip tie, or safety wire the guard around the outer ring of the assembly, then won't the whole assembly not fit properly back in the housing?

That's too bad.

I would like a stonegaurd to help with "da look" of my bike. But I don't think it will fit with an eyelid visor mounted also.
