hey guys, i recently got my hands on a bella corse universal fairing (the one that a few of you guys have on)

it comes with two 45deg angled brackets that do not seem to fit any where near anything!!

i heard that people had to move their signals to make it fit; i took my signals off completely so they are not an issue; can some one point towards the right direction or post a pic of how and where they've mounted this thing

thanks in advance

Typical mounting is on the sides, thru the headlight mounting bolts. But the brackets are usually more "U" shaped than "L" shaped...

If those are ADDITIONAL brackets, I have made some similar to what you describe to mount at the bottom lip of the fairing, back to the bottom fork yoke for additional stability besides the typical side mounts.

And now for the correct answer:

The two slotted metal strap brackets fit between the inside surface of the fairing body and attach to the headlight using the two stock headlight bolts.

You will most likely have to bend the brackets slightly into a tighter V shape. The pointed end of the brackets face forward and rest against the rolled lip around the headlight opening. The closed slotted end goes against the fairing body and the open slotted end slips over the headlight bolts. Push the fairing body up tight against the headlight rim and tighten the hardware. Using the open slotted end on the headlight side allows you to remove and reinstall the fairing use by loosening and tightening the headlight bolts.

well, more bad news,

as i went to put on the tinted screen, i see that not all the holes match up nicely, so i put a bit of elbow grease into it, and went one by one from each side untill the screen fit, unfotunately, when you look at it from front, one side is bulkier than the other one, AND after about 20 min. i realized that around one of the screws on the tinted shield there is a crack developing

so

i guess i will have to go with no front screen; I'm disappointed in the quality of this product but i guess it was worth the price

if anyone is interested 20 bucks plus shipping gets you the screen

It helps to start in the middle, at the front, and chase the holes with a 1/4" drill GENTLY, one at a time.

Put in the first (front/middle) screw, move to one side, chase the hole, install the next screw. Move to the opposite side, repeat, etc. Alternating sides each time.

Also, use a rubber washer in between the shield and the fairing to eliminate stress.

Take the tiniest drill bit you have and CAREFULLY, GENTLY, drill a tiny hole right at the tail end of the crack. Then, super glue the crack. That should keep it in check.
