Has anyone replaced their front brake reservoir with something more appealing than the stock piece of tupperware? Is there a specific reason that Triumph uses the reservior supplied or is it just economics, plastic being least expensive? Having replaced the stock antennae with bar end mirrors, that plastic cup really bothers me now as it sticks out like.... well, a plastic cup on an otherwise beautiful machine. Not knowing all that much about the mechanics of the system, is there something very specific about each reservoir to the brake it is connected to? Finally, if someone has any suggestions as to replacements, I would much appreciate any advice.

I have not used these myself, but I know folks that have.

Hooligan brakes

I do have a old school black athletic wrist band wrapped around mine. The idea being that if it leaks, it wont get all over your tank.

I agree with you. The plastic brake reservoir is truly an ugly addition to the handlebar set up. I've always wondered why motorcycle companies didn't use something more attractive.

I used the Hooligan product mentioned above. It was pricey, but I really like the look of it. The notable thing about this picture is you can't even really see the reservoir any more:

I believe Thrux-ton-up has one on his bike as well, albeit a polished version.

- Still the ugly Tupper ware - have been waiting way to long for a Rizoma unit - may have to look at another. JCW

Mancha, you need to take your bike in for service. Everything appears to be shifted to the left of the taillight!!! Don't you find yourself leaning to the right while you ride and feeling a distinct lack of butt support?

It's always impressed me that I am seemingly the ONLY person here who likes the side-mounted license plate. :???: I think it gives a really cool retro cafe look to the bike. I suppose I should be content that no one else likes it though, as if everyone had one I suddenly would NOT like it.

Well, obviously I was kidding you, but it has now occurred to me that it's more than just a matter of style. Because both of your turn signals are to the left of the taillight, a person behind you at night could mistake a signalled right turn for a signalled left as a result of the relative placement of these lights.

If it's dark and you are signalling right, but the person behind you reads it as left, they might try to pass on the right with bad effect. Besides the risk to your safety, you would not have a leg to stand on legally in this scenario.

Just a few thoughts. I really was just having some fun, but then thought seriously for a moment.
