...is the perfect speed for the Thrux.

I finally got to put some miles on my bike. Rode around the front range (Colorado) a little this weekend. Morrison to Evergreen. Great road. Morrison on Sunday is like a mini Sturgis, the streets lined with bikes. Then on to Boulder canyon and coffee on Pearl street. Man, that bike draws a lot of attention. Even the Harley guys come over to talk about it. I think Triumph should refund every third payment in appreciation for the bikes we are selling everytime we ride. Then again the Truxton is already a really good deal.

I met a guy on another yellow Thrux. He still had stock pipes but I think the sound of my pipes inspired him. I should get a cut from that sale.

Then I rode to work today. Out on the highway at about 80mph, the wind pushes me back off of my hands and it's perfect. I am glad I didn't get the Speed Triple. I don't know how those guys keep their licenses.

So, with about 350 miles on it, I'm extremely happy with it.
Just thought I'd share.
Steve

80 is a good speed on the Thrux. Nice and comfortable. The 40 mph above 80 that you have available is like money in the bank or a friend that owes you a beer. You may not need it but it is nice to have ready.

On the next ride, I am going to try real hard to stay at or below it. Some of the guys I ride with are just so dang fast.

I may have missed your earlier posts but I wanted to ask about your pipes. What kind did you get?

I put the Predators from British Customs on my 05 Thruxton and I smile big every time I start it and bigger every time I crack the ton.

I still laugh when I start it up at a pub and watch the crowd gather. I mean the bike draws some attention when its off but people just don't expect the growl that comes out of those Predators.

I debated about getting those pipes at first. Now I wouldn't ride it without them.

Johnny out.

I have the Predators also. I think they sound better than my Harley did with the Screaming Eagle pipes.

Caffeinated - We used to ride to a bar called the 'Little Bear' up in Evergreen back in the 80's - is it still around? Glad you like the Thrux - they are a great ride - especially with Predators. JCW

Thrux-Ton-Up,
I'm not sure about the bar you mentioned, I haven't really paid attention to the names of the bars since I lost my liquor license. (To be honest, I never remembered the names of bars when I was drinking.)
Was it an old west style place with a raised wooden sidewalk out front? Old fashioned hotel next door? If so, yes.
Really, I don't know. Ridge, Strontje, Mike, we may have to get the group together to check this out for Thrux-Ton-Up. Can't leave him hanging.

Agreed, Steve! Sounds like we have a mission! Project Little Bear is underway!

Too bad we couldn't have gone today - 74°!

How was the gravel situation up to Evergreen? On my trip through Ward a few weeks ago it was like driving on ball bearings.

The road up there was in good shape. I tried to go up into one of the side valleys but there was way too much gravel.

The 10 day forcast looks like Sunday might be the day.

Let me know if it's good and we'll pick a place to meet.

Ah... okay, I just saw the weather on tv and it's drastically different than the weather.com forecast. Sunday looks cold. We'll have to wait a day or two to see what happens.

Well Guys,
I did get out today and it was an amazing day.

The Ducdoo had an impromptu ride up Boulder Canyon south on the peak-to-peak and back down Coal Creek canyon. Man those guys are a bit fast for my comfort. I don't think we touched below 80 coming up Boulder

The MH is just too valuable for me to drop so I decide to hold back going back down. I'm glad I did, there were patches of gravel and quite a bit of snow melt water runoff over the roads.

But all in all it was a fantastic day, I felt a little guilty skipping out on work today so I passed on the lunch at wonderview.

Tomorrow I pull the fairings off the MH and start cleaning!

I have a hard time passing up a ride on the MH but the thrux will almost make that choice bearable. I'm ready for another ride guys, lets get together!
