This is roughly how I personally feel about it (and about most things lately)....click

No offense intended. However, I would point out that about 140 people have responded to "how old" and about 4,500 have taken a peek at it. Somebody cares about that topic.....makes you go "hmmmmm".

I think it is just a common thread between people to get some conversation started.

I think he (cafestyle) was just trying get some people to share their experience, so if that is what takes to create a giant community of people who can share information with each other......then so be it.

I am pretty sure that just about everyone up on these boards is fired up about riding.
I know I am...

It's one thing to ride. But to ride a cafe bike is something that a lot of the older folks don't do anymore beacuse of the comfort. If you are 86 years old and still ride a true cafe styled bike, then everyone here owes you much respect.

I ride with a guy Wild Bill Revere, who has multiple Motorcycles. BMW's, Triumphs, Ducs, and one lone AJS. He rides them all. His three favorite Bikes are a 75 Bonni, with club man bars and rear sets, 74 Duc SS, 75 BMW R90 S. The Wild Bill Dude (Korean War Army Vet) Was born in 1930. Do the math. The Wild One is pretty fast in the twisties. I started riding with him in 1971. He had a cafe BSA then. We do 300 plus mile days and more. You should see the look on the squids faces when they pull into 4 corners after we have blasted them on hwy 89 outside Mt Lassen, and they see how old he is :-D . They will usually ask him how does he go so fast on that Antique Motorcycle. His response is usually some wise arse thing like style, gotta have style and you don't have any. Or my favorite, it's a mans motorcycle, you obviously wouldn't like it.
Baldy!! What is important here is the age of Truxton riders, from 22 years to 60+years. These Dudes have lots of style and one thing in common. The Truxton, the love affair with the Style of Madam Thrux. A thing of beauty, a timeless beauty, a classic work of art. Think of Sofia Loren riding as passenger while you are driving a red 1966 GTO with the black prancing horse on the hood. Now that is Style. That is a timeless beauty. That is a classic work of art. And so is the seductive Madam Thrux. She lures the young and old alike. Madam Thrux sings the song of the siren of the Greek classics(Homer I think). Men cannot resist Her song. She is a temptress an addiction. Would not have it any other way. :yayyy: At 57 I feel like a kid next to Wild Bill. PS: He is a better rider than myself. Steve
