I finally did it. Bought a leftover 05 blue thrux with TORs, air injection removal, carb rejetting for $7900!

Excited, would be a severe understatement!
My last bike was nearly 20 years ago. Was torn between power cruizers, standards, and a harley Dyna lol. But I kept coming back to the thrux.
So any tips or advice would be greatly appreicated.
Should I order a uni filter and have the dealer rejet with that installed as well?

This online community sweetens the experience; what a great, helpful group of passionate bikers.

Thanks,
Tony
:-D
BTW
I am in southern Connecticut.

Congratulations....

You and I have exactly the same bike. Only mine hasn't been
re-jetted. It will be interesting to compare notes ! Have you
put any miles on it yet ?

Enjoy.....

Mike.

Fantastic!! You will love that bike!! Don't be like the guy on e-bay right now who after 100 miles got tired of his wrists hurting and has his bike up for sale. That will wear off and you will get used to the riding position.

Like I said, welcome aboard and enjoy that bike! Now go out and twist the throttle and let your neighbors know what you brung home!! LOL!!

Easy and free first-step remedy for the sore wrists is to loosen the triple clamps and clip-ons, slide the fork tubes out until you can free the clip-ons, slip the tubes back in with enough tube ABOVE the triple crown to re-mount the clip-ons ON TOP, then tighten everything back up.

It's like a different bike.

Second kingmohan's opinion, don't get discouraged by the wrist pain. You'll get it for the first week or two of riding, then your back muscles tighten up and you can ride comfortably.

There are lots of ways to raise the clip-ons, just make sure you give your back time to strengthen before you change anything.

TL - Congrats on the new ride - you'll love it. The bars gave my hands problems with pain on long rides - I solved that with Tomaselli three way adjustable clip ons, about 100 to 150 bucks on ebay or Cosmo Motors. JCW
