...and I am SO tempted to buy it. The pictures don't do this bike justice. I think it may be the most gorgeous machine of any kind currently being manufactured. It also fit me perfectly -- seat, controls, footpegs, bars were all positioned just right.

Thing is, I can't bear to part with my Bonneville (for which I just ordered Ikon shocks and fork springs and the NB fender eliminator kit). I can't really afford the Ducati at full price, but I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. Ah well, here's hoping they keep it in production for at least a few years...

*sigh* Life is so difficult sometimes.

Thanks to all who attended!

Do you keep one bullet left for yourself, for when it's all over and done?

These bikes exude charm and sex appeal. The touches like the bar ends from the factory just accentuate a perfectly executed design.

It's OK to look...your bonnie will forgive you.
:-D

I've drooled over the magazine photos too. But this weekend I saw my first sportclassic as I rode past the guy on my Thruxton and...it didn't look that good in real life riding around. I was surprised. The dude was totally flat out over the bumblebee yellow tank, looked uncomfortable, the black pipes looked huge and weird, and it just didn't look like you could possibly mistake it for an old bike (in contrast to the Thrux or Bonnies). I'm sure they're great bikes, I just don't like how they look in real life (which for bikes is probably 90% of the buying decision).

yeah, I checked them out at the show a few weeks back, they both looked great, like the positioning of the the PaulSmart1000, actually felt comfortable, although I only sat on it for a minute, still love my Thruxton though

Yes markbvt, I know what you mean. A few weeks ago, I posted a comment about the sport classics here as well. Someone made a very funny response having to do with "giving in to the Ducati Succubus" - which was both funny and perfectly accurate. It's hard/impossible to get the picture of that ducati out of your head. it creeps in during work, during play - it's horrible. I went so far as to call the local Ducati dealership to see what he'd give me for my Thruxton (not much by the way). Having been through it, I can say that if you wait it out long enough - the feeling will pass. At least it has for now...javascript: x()

The look, and sound, great with the Termis; either the single or dual setup:

Not too shabby with the Zard pipes either:

Man. Big improvement over the stock cans. I'm talking about the Ducati pictured above, not Pamela Anderson.

Those stock pipes will adorn attics and shelves across the world.

Well, I haven't seen this Ducati in real life yet, but a couple of days ago my Triumph and - since a couple of weeks - Moto Morini dealer asked me to break in his demo Moto Morini Corsaro!
1200 cc V-twin, 140 hp......

Did I say NO? Have I remained faithful to Triumph?

Brothers and sisters in Triumph, forgive me, for I have sinned :-D

I know that you Thruxton-ers out there all appreciate a nice piece of machinery, so here it is:
