Yesterday a few of us in the Denver/ Boulder area from this Club Cafe forum got together for a ride.

I showed up at our designated meeting place to find a Model A Ford meeting getting underway. There were about 30 stock Model A fords of all types including sedans pick-ups and roadsters.

Was a Balmy 28 degrees (F!). Can you say fffreakin cccold!
The first to show was a lost Ducatisti... She was riding one of those new S2R monsters. Hot! And the bike wasn't too bad either... The local DucDoo had a ride scheduled. We invited her along with us but alas.

Ridge and Stonje(?) showed on a pair of beautiful Bonnies and appropriately dressed for the weather. About a half hour later Cafinated made it on his new Thrux along with his significant other riding a Buell.

The cold weather kept us from doing much of a real ride so we headed out to small town about 20 miles away where there was a museum that was having a motorcycle exhibit. This was the first time any of us had met so we had a lot of fun talking about the bikes in the exhibit and getting to know each other,

We then headed over to a brewpub for lunch. We spent a few hours in the pub trying to get the feeling back in our fingers and talking bikes etc. Cafenated, being an ex Harley rider had an interesting perspective about bikes and being labeled by the type of bike you ride.

Although we really didn't get much riding done it was fun to meet such a great group of people in our area. I had a good time and I look forward to better weather so we can get out on the bikes some more. It was an awesome first meeting and I hope we have many more....

Guys and girls lets do it again.

Definitely, Mike!

Had a great time meeting you, Caffeinated, and the future Mrs. Caffeinated yesterday. A very nice afternoon with good people and their beautiful bikes.

I'm glad Strontje and I showed up when we did to save you from yourself and that Ducati pilot.

We'll do it again! In the meantime get some warm clothes, for cryin' out loud!

That was a good day. A short ride, but perfect for January in Denver.

I enjoyed the museum. I always enjoy looking at old bikes. Except for the glaring omission of Triumph.

Speaking of keeping warm, my Aerostich velcro handgrip heaters were perfect. I found them through this board, so Kudo's to RatNet.

On the other hand (pun inteded), Kate's not very happy with her Gerbing glove liners. She had painful red marks on her hands all evening. She sent an email complaint to Gerbing. They sell an optional thermostat so you can adjust the temp to your liking, but I think it's amazing that she can't use the product as purchased without burning her hands.
We'll see what they say.

Hope we get some warm weather so we don't have to worry about it.
Steve

Agreed, it was a good ride. It did warm up a bit as the day went on, and although some of us had our doubts, we all went home with all of our digits.

I think the day had an excellent balance of riding, getting to know each other and ogling (and sometimes laughing at) some fine museum pieces.

Isn't Colorado great? My hardest decision for the weekend was choosing whether to ride my motorcycle or my snowboard. It's a decision I'll happily ponder again.
