I'm a new Thruxton owner, traded a Harley for it as a matter of fact. I'm enjoying it so far.

I bought a used '05, apparently a rich kids project. He had all the performance mods done more or less. Predator pipes (with black powdercoated header pipes), air box and emissions eliminated, stiffer clutch spring, and had it dynoed and re-jetted at the dealership. He put 1400 miles on it and sold it back to the dealership. Probably not fast enough. It's plenty fast for me.

I'd like to get rid of the rear fender. I searched for a thread discussing the NewThruxton Fender Eliminator kit and couldn't find anything. Anybody buy this? Did everything work? Are there better alternatives, and by better I mean "cheaper but still looks good."

Thanks. I'm really enjoying the forum, by the way.
Steve

Okay I feel kind of stupid now. I used the search feature to look of threads on the fender eliminator and got nothing. Just now I scrolled through a few pages of old posts and found two.
Note to self, don't trust the search function.

However I'd still like to hear any new comments on the subject, not covered in those other threads.

Thanks.
Steve

Check Thrux-ton-up`s photo album.Looks great, effective and probably less expensive than the OTC kits.

Met someone w/ the NewBonneville kit not too long ago, looked nice, complete, said he had no problems, I'm probably going to do mine in the spring

Hey new guy in Denver...

Don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm always on the look out for someone else to get out riding with. Weather hasn't been the best here but still doable for this time of year. let me know if you want to go for a short ride.

Did you get the yellow thrux from foothills? I was in there looking at the blue 05 they have but got another bike (actualy from this forum)

Anyway it'd be interesting to see it with the fender gone, give me an email

Steve,
I've seen your bike too, if you got it at Foothills. Harold fired it up for me one day when I was shopping for mine and asking about aftermarket exhausts. Great looking ride!(and great sounding too).

I drooled over it every time I've been there and seen it since.

Give Strontje and I a shout if you and flynbulldog make it to up to Boulder on any rides.

Caffeinated,
I used a black 04 Bonneville rear fender I bought of eBay for $50 shortened it, made a stainless steel light bracket for a motorcyclemods.com LED mini cat-eye taillight $48. Added Kellermann style signals $29 pr. MotoTwin Fiberglass Front Fender $60. Mounted the Lic. plate in the fender-well with a small Lic. light above it $5. I'm happy with it and it was less than the kit.

evalu8or, is that the wider rear wheel and tire? If so, how does it handle? And where did you get it from? Was it expensive?
