Hey guys looking for some answers..

I want to do the D&D 2-1 performance race exhaust (link below) on my 11' EFI bonneville black.

I spoke to D&D and they said the 2-1 system will fit a bonneville but they also said I need Thruxton length shocks. Is this correct? I'm wondering if they were thinking I was talking about the "TT" exhaust that goes underneath, because in that case I could see needing the longer shocks for ground clearance. Otherwise I don't see how I need the longer shocks for the side mounted 2-1 exhaust.

Also, does anyone have any more photos of the exhaust? All the ones I've seen are on the blue Thruxton in the link.

They will work ok on a bonnie they are alittle lower to the ground then some of the other pipes you will only have to be carful on very high speed bumps.No other pipe for these bikes makes more power.

thank you guys! i decided to order one for my bonneville. i'll post some pictures up once i install it. hopefully will be good on the stock shocks for clearance, we'll see.

Hi mike
How many different pipes have you tried?
Do you think the 2into1 make the most power?
How do the arrow 2into1 compare to the d&d 2into1

Alot of testing was done on many pipes by me and some friends of mine over the years in all truth the arrow wont hang with any of the top systems out there.Preds or domi pipes make more power then the arrow and the 2into1 makes more hp then them.I have seen gains of as much as 10 hp with the d&d 2into1s on the bigger motors.There tt race pipes allso make good power but are way to low to the ground.The only down side to the d&d 2into1 is they dont sound as good as some of the other pipes.I run the new 2into2 full system on my bike now they look and sound much better but the 2into1 makes about 5 more hp then the full system 2into2 on my 1087.
What makes the d&d race pipes work is bigger header and better bends that flow way better.The highest hp dyno run so far on these motors with out a turbo was done with the d&d 2into1.

They don't really make anymore power, very few exhaust systems do once you start comparing all the performance aftermarket systems that are available, it's all in the tuning and getting your bike to run properly.
I have a 2/1 for sale in the classifieds on the cheap if you don't want to spend the big bucks to find out.

It's is absolutely true, a d&d does not make anymore power than lets say a bub or thunderbike. There is no super duper secret to letting more air out just the sound that you want once you get into the upper end exhaust systems.
Our machines are new, finely tuned they will run great as long as they have some back pressure. Old bikes that's a whole different matter but that's not the subject at hand. Your d&d's Arnt going to make your bike noticeably faster than lets say my thunders if you tune your machine correctly for each set up...If you think any different you live in a dream world.
