Thruxton: Arrows vs Predators
Hey guys ~
Finally went to my local dealer yesterday and sat on a Thruxton. (I'm sold, just need to confirm with a ride).
They only had 1 Brookland Green. They have 2 blacks coming in December which are sold. And 2 more in January. I want the black.
They didn't have any demos, so I think I am going to go to another dealer who I found out has a demo.
Anyway, I was reading about all the mods you guys have done to yours and wanted to know the difference between the Arrows and Predators. My personal preference are the Predators, I really like the look of them because they look similar to the stock, but don't sound like a sewing machine. lol
So what is your preference and why?
Also, I would like to know......if you only could do 3 mods right off the bat, which ones would they be?
Thank you again for your help!
~kim

I like the green! Haha back on topic
My first "mod" (although not a real mod) was a disc lock wich everyone should have, I got a disc lock alarm by xena. The XX14 which is a perfect fit, the XX15 would fit also. But my real first mod that involves.something physical with the bike was a scorpio alarm system, a 2 way paging one. I decided against the performance mods first because I wanted to appreciate the difference after I do put more performance mods in place. Also next was braking amd suspension.

Is MI that high crime rate? I haven't used the fork lock in over a year. I've been in NYC, LA, South FL, Philadelphia, and everywhere in between.
My advice is:
Air box
Predictors
813 Cams from TPUSA

The black with the silver stripe? That'll look good on you. Classy and timeless.
First 3 mods? Rear shocks, Ricor Intiminator in forks, pipes. A lot of people whinge about the saddle being uncomfortable but at least ride it and see if it's a big deal for you.
Compared to your Ducati, you can get big improvements on your suspension for a modest investment, but of course you can also go all out and fit it with Ohlins, Bitubo fork cartridge, on and on.
Welcome aboard .

yeah it is, it's sad. Where I live in April there was 8 motorcycle stolen in that month alone, we average around 3 or 4 a month from spring-Fall. The first month I had my bike I had a guy sit on my bike without my permission that motivated me to get the disc alarm. Then a guy I live by had his bike stolen in July, an Aprilia Tuono 1000 R. They say the best security is full coverage, which i agree with but I like to have preventative measures. Plus I get an insurance discount by having an alarm system which has already paid for itself in discounts .

Pipes. Make it sound like you mean business & open up the exit.
Remove snorkel & open up the air box to get air in the carbs. Free mod! Adds 5% more grunt when coupled with new pipes.
Fek. Looks great.

If I had only those two to choose it would be the arrows for the sound alone.
