Do I really have to buy the whole mirror kit?

I don't want to re-post a subject but I think that the discussion concern you gentlemen.

I just bought a black Triumph Thruxton 2009.
But the it miss the screw and the spring that fix the mirror arm in is adaptor.
See here, it's number 8 and 9.

http://www.motorcyclestore.us/triumph/pdf/A9900246_EN-US_909ME_BarEndMirror[1].pdf

According to what I found, this image is for a Thrux 2008. Mirror are bigger on the 2009.

So where could I fine these pieces number 8 and 9 for a Triumph Thruxton 2009?
Do I really have to buy the whole mirror kit?

Thanks

Go to http://www.worldoftriumph.com/sectio.../triumph_parts

Locate the drawing for your model and year. Select the parts you require and send to the basket. If the parts are available separately then they will be listed separately. Open the basket and click on the individual parts. The part description will appear inc the Triumph part no. Order from you dealer or from thr World of Triumph website (it might be cheaper and almost certainly quicker to get delivery)

That's the problem. According to this page, http://www.worldoftriumph.com/triump...lock_03=233334 , the screw and the spring that I need don't exist...

If the World of Triumph parts list does not show the screw and spring separately then I am afraid they are not available. The WoT dwg/lists are taken directly from the Triumph dealer website.

That is a lot of money to spend just to get a spring and screw. I would think that if you remove the set from the other side and take them to Ace or something, you would be able to find a match for a couple bucks.
