Need HELP on TPUSA C arb Powerpack Install

I've been installing the TPUSA carb powerpack upgrade on my '07 Thruxton today. Ran into two issues that have me stuck. The first is a sensor that was plugged into the RH side of the airbox that I can't figure ou what it was plugged into (can't find a plug on the bike). I think it's a temp sensor (bottom picture). Do I need it? The second is something I think goes with the SAIS. I've removed all of it and installed the cylinder head plugs, but what's this thing? The hose coming out of the back of it plugs into a black plastic T-pipe that connects the two carbs, so I'm not sure I should remove that, but it seems like it's useless since I reomoved everything else associated with the SAIS. Thanks--this a great forum! Hopefully the pictures post OK below.

Yep. I finally found it (the temp sensor) in my shop manual and found the plug. Thanks. The other item is the canister mounted right to the frame. I've checked parts fiche and everywhere I could think to look and can't identify it or determine whether it needs to go.

Seems OK

Well, I went ahead and removed it and finished the install. I didn't adjust the air/fuel mixture or do a carb sync yet--just went for a very short ride around the block. Bike ran fine-some smoke but I'm pretty shre that's from ghe new pipes as it didn't smell like gas. Hope to get out in the country this afternoon and see if I can feel a difference. The pipes do sound nice.
