I can't remember the exact post but yes, it works with mechanical drive speedo Triumphs. There is an adapter cable that plugs into your speedo drive and then into the cable on the Acewell.

Still haven't purchased one yet. Was wondering if anyone has bought one off of Dime City Cycles and knows if there is anyway I can get the cables to be "plug and play" from the stock Triumph speedometer? Or if not at Dime City Cycles, some other site? I'm mechanically challenged and am looking for the easiest option available. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Dime city also has the cable to make it plug and play. Just search for it and you'll find it.

If you are talking about making the speedo drive plug and play, yes.
If you are talking about making the wiring harness that comes out of the gauge plug directly into the Triumph harness, you will have to make that on your own. There is a post around here somewhere about how to do that.

My vote is for the Acewell 4354 series. For a bit more than the 28xx series you get a lot more guage (needle tach, variable back lighting color, ability to input starting mileage, plus much more). I ordered mine from acewell.de to get the right version and better prices...

You can get the speedo cable to be plug-n-play but as stated you must rewire or incorporate the wiring that comes with the new gauge.
I'm in the process of my own install right now. I bought a plug and new pins and rewired the gauge plugs to work with Triumph's plugs.
All is working now, just have to fabricate my mounting bracket.
