Vendor Question:Thruxton Regulator - Relocate?
Hi all.
One of our suppliers is asking us to import a regulator relocation kit for the Thruxton. Is this something you guys want or need? Are there a lot of failures due to excessive heat of the regulator on the Thruxton?
Also, would you guys want to buy something for this or has someone already created a stupid simple solution that has already been applied to every Thruxton out there?
I would love some insight on this.
Kevin

I would be interested in this. BC or New Bonne sells a relo kit that moves it from the triple tree to the frame below the horn. was expensive if I recall.

Not being a hater or sarcastic, just honestly wondering: What are the advantages or reasons one would want to relocate the regulator?

It is pretty ugly and out on display for one thing.
Also, many people with aftermarket headlight mounting solutions end up moving the headlight down for one reason or another. The regulator gets in the way of this.

Twistedthrottle -
You guys have great stuff and a great website, keep up the good work.
I've considered offering my own design, but existing cost-effective solutions are indeed out there already, so
I've been recommending the BC rectifier relocation bracket for some time now to my customers... $39.95

Jason... IMO, cleans up the front end... used with adjustable headlamp brackets allows
a wide range of height adjustment for the headlamp.

The backet is going to get covered up by everything anyway so I ended up getting a T bracket from a hardware store and a couple bolts and nuts. I think I spent 6 bucks. Painted it black and I was done.
This picture is from before I installed a different horn under my battery box. I used 2 T brackets to mount everything together.

I have lowered my triple tree through the forks and under heavy braking my R/R knocks on my fork brace.
I guess it depends on your mods, your idea of aesthetics and your riding style
FWIW I intend to relocate my Shengden R/R (which I have bought already) to under the seat and split the loom (when I get time) and put on different headlight ears.

Made my own for under 2 dollars. That being said i have a mig. For those who don't and lower the headlight you have to move the regulator so something cost effective is a good idea.

I would think offering a relocation bracket at a reasonable price would be good, but offering a relocation kit with an upgraded rectifier that's plug and play would also be good.
