Dominator Carb Rejet

Bit the bullet and ordered the TPUSA Dominator Carb Power Pack special (touring pipe option) for my'07 Thruxton. For those that have actually installed this upgrade, how spot on is TPUSA's choice of replacement jets (I'm not even sure what size they are sending)? Will I likely be experimenting with several combos? For what it's worth, I'm about 600' above sea level.

kjax,

I don't remember the details, but I took the recommendations of Carlos at TPUSA for my DT's on my '08 Bonnie with snorkel removed and AI disabled, and they were right on.

Most likely the jets they send you will be spot on. You will probably have to adjust your mixture screw.

Not sure what jets they sent you, but on a related note I bought the performance package from BC and they sent me 135 and 140 mains and 42 pilots. I installed the 42 pilots and the 140 mains. Took it into the dealer to check the A/F as I don't have all the proper tools, he said it was spot on with the A/F gauge measurements. All they did was sync the carbs and adjust the mixture screw.
I've got a 2007 T100, so different needles I think, but very similar.

If you find that the jetting TPUSA sends you is not adequate, the link below will give you some valuable information about setting/tuning your carbs. I'd start with 42 pilot jets and experiment with the main jets.

Myself, I'm running BC Predators with 150 on the main jet and trying to sort out other issues on the lower end of the RPM range so Iíve been going back and forth between 42 and 45 pilots. You can't really go by what others have set up. Fact of the matter is, no two bikes are the same. That's what makes it challenging to tune these bikes. You can have two of the same bikes sitting side by side with the same mods but require different settings of jets and air mixture. It would be nice to be able to jet the bike the same as a buddy and expect to achieve the same results. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen. There are just too many variables.

Thanks

Thanms for the info. I'll have to install what they send and if don't experience noticeable problems, I'll procedd to having it dyno'd. Fortunately we have one local.

All worked well

Got the kit installed over the last two days. I haven't adjusted the air fuel mixture or synced the carbs and the bike runs great. It seems spot on to me, but I'll have to get on a dyno with an EGA. And the sound, the sound--it's the stuff dreams are made of. I can't stop thinking about it.
