British Customs Number Plates

Hello..has anyone else bought the BC number plates and had a hard time getting a "tight" fit? The bottom portions of the plates bolt in nicely but the top portions just rest on the two little pegs very loosely. They rattle quite a bit when on the road and don't mount nearly as snug as the OEM side covers.

Is it just me?

Do you need to use the rubber grommets from the OEM side covers?

Yep I have them. You need to transfer your stock rubber grommets off the factory side covers and put them into the holes on the number plates.

do they still offer these? I can find them on their site and before the last time I checked it said unavailable. If they don't offer them anymore was there a reason for it? Id like to get a pair.

MAS Engineering makes a set that are available now. NewBonneville sells them I believe. The information I've been able to glean on these BC covers is that they're redesigning them and new versions will be released in 2015. But if BC history is any guide, their release targets are rather "fluid"

Man, that's no joke. Last year I called and they told me "just a couple months" and this spring they told me "just a couple months". MmmHmm.

They do look the biz though. Analog Motorcycles is releasing number plates any day - they're more vintage motocross style aluminum plates with Analog-designed brackets if I understood them right. Might check them out. If you're a hand with aluminum welding you can get plates for $35 on eBay and whip up brackets yourself (Alas... I'm not).
