Lossa Reverse Cones as TT?

Tally ho!

So, what does everyone think of using lossa reverse cones to create a TT style exhaust (a la d&d tt)? I mean, I'd have to chop the headers before the points at which they're secured to the frame, so how would i secure the lossas? They don't come with any mounting brackets or anything...

Fishing line? Unicorn tail hair?

I found this bike, which used 17" pipes, and thought the lossas would be better for ground clearance, etc.

I dunno, maybe it's foolish to chop up the headers, but damn I love the TT styling.

Any advice, good folk?

i always worry about ground clearance with TT pipes. I have poor clearance with my Lossa stubbies as is. i can't imagine haveing my pipes under my frame. i'd always be afraid to scrape them.

Thanks, Bill, I'll check that out.

@ Windtherapy: I've been following your posts about your Stubbies. Can I ask you something? If I get lossa Stubbies, a TTP breathe, and the TTP tune #4, will I get improved performance over TORS?

@ craig: nah, I'll just use my own stockies, but thanks anyway!

i dont' know about vs Tors, but you would deffinitly have improvement over stock pipes or air intake.

I don't have a TTP tune yet, after i remove my airbox i will. I'll keep you posted though.

I cut the "S" bend out of my headers when I put BSA Goldie silencers on my Bonnie. I got a bracket made up by a local fabricator that reached forward from the original mounting point and then had it welded to the header pipes.

Wyrd - I'm do just that. Bike was in a wreck and it is at my mechanic's shop. Always like TT Style but didn't want to loose ground clearance with the D&Ds. Had a set of Bonnie pipes laying around that will be cut up and rebent to do this.

Wind - Pipes won't be under the frame (ala D&Ds). Headers will be slightly rebent to run parallel with the frame. Rear mount will be cut off of the amputated part of the header pipe (or a rear mount fabricated like Ozbon's) and welded onto the Lossa MRCs Like the link Myrd provided.

We are waiting on parts to arrive (probably from the UK as most everything else is in) to put the bike up on the lift and start wrenching. Will be stopping up at the shop later today after I vote to see what is left to arrive (probably the front fork tubes, seat, seat cowl and other minor OEM parts from Triumph).

Maybe I can get him to photo document the process. We'll see.
