I called Pitbull and they said that a Thruxton uses adapter pin #1 and they stated they had no compliants about it not fitting. I have a 2011 Thruxton and I have a Front under the yoke Pitbull stand that I used to use on my Hypermotard. I want to now use it on my Triumph. Anyone know the correct adapter? I did a search and some say that adapter pin #1 didnt fit correctly.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but if your stand is like mine, which I got in the mid 90s for my Ducati, using it for the Triumph should be a real experience. My Ducati weighed much less than the Triumph and it was still very difficult to lift. With the extra weight - I'd think you'd bust a gut getting it overcenter. This photo below isn't my stand - but it's the same design. (Note the lifting arm is shown installed backwards)



Hopefully they changed their design so it lifts easier.

Mine is newer than that one pictured. It looks like this http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ont-Stand.aspx. Pitbull now only makes the Hybrid version for it now that can lift via fork legs or under the yoke. Mine is only for under the yoke.

I'm preparing to service my front forks and dump new springs, intiminators, and wanted to use my front jack stand. It would be more stable than using a car jack with a piece of wood under the bike.

I can appreciate that. I used a hydraulic bottle jack & piece of wood when installing my fork gators and was a little uncomfortable the whole time. I loosened and tightened all bolts w/ the tire still on the ground so as to not disturb things too much - something you might consider doing if you don't get the Pitbull to work.

i have no problems with this front stand-my pin that works for k5 gsxr 1000 works fine for thruxton

my pin is #6,but chart shows that i should be using #5-i went to a cycle gear and ordered one for the k5 and this what they got for me-but it works for both bikes

Thanks! I'll give Cycle Gear a call tomorrow and see if they have a pin #6 in stock.

sorry-it was the s pin for the bandit 1200 that i could use for both-i have got 4 pins,got confused-i have 2 s pins-pm me and i will send one

Lol I was lazy and havent bought it yet...phew. But anyways, youre saying that the "s" standard pin is all you need? I have a standard pin plus adapter #2 that I used to use for my Hypermotard. So I am guessing I can just take off the adapter and use the standard pin and it should work.
