Thruxton Belly Pan Group buy

Hi all,

I posted something similar a few weeks ago, but this is really in the works now.

I've been going back and forth with Solo Triumph on this belly pan
http://www.solotriumph.com/triumph-t...hruxton-cup-fs

Here's the pricing breakdown on multi unit pricing.

Quote:
- 3 units sent by FedEx Economy Service: 332.23 =$430.23 /3= $143 a person
- 3 units sent by FedEx Priority Service: 361.43 = $468.04 /3 =$156 a person

- 4 units sent by FedEx Economy Service: 411.88 = $533.37 /4 = $133.35 a person
- 4 units sent by FedEx Priority Service: 445.98 = $577.53 / 4 = $144.38 a person
The difference is in the shipping. the part is light, but bulky. They can fit multiple parts in one box and we share the price of shipping. One pan in more than $200.

I already have myself and one other member interested.

Any thruxton riders interested. We'd ship them to one of us and distribute to the other guys from there.

Let me know if you're interested. We'll probably be ordering after the first of the year to avoid the hollidays.

Micah.

Does this pan fit with the standard Thruxton pipes? I thought I remember reading somewhere that it requires aftermarket pipes.

I'll double check with them but I believe it does fit stock pipes

i emailed them again. They are at some race over across the pond. They'll get back to me on Monday. that should answer the stock pipes question. i really hope it works with stockers.

Here's the update

Quote:
Hi Micah,

Here is the response of our supplier:

Fiberglass race belly need be cut not only for the stock headers but also the side stand, see our T12.2 http://freespiritspertriumph.blogspo...y-date=falsewe

To make it easy we have made a sort of pattern where to cut, but so far we didn’t find the time to include it on part.

Best regards,

Marc.

Any one interested? We need either 4 or 5 people involved to make this worth while. Please reply if you're in.

Looks like the Free Spirits belly pan wraps around -outside- of the header down tubes.

I think the pan looks cool but not practical for street use.

what's impractical about it? just for arguments sake? i'd love your thoughts on it.

I emailed Freespirits today since that's what Solo said to do.

I see it getting damaged quickly with the roads in my neck of the woods, the clearance looks quite low. I'm thinking that's why you see them primarly on track bikes.
