Well if the $10,300 includes the Arrow exhaust he beat your cost, and if it doesn't the difference of $400 over a couple of years is nothing.

Was unbable to find any 2012's in my area. Bought the 2013 Black Thrux stock for 10147.00 out the door. Was unable to get any accessories thrown on for free.

This is on the internet for anyone to see. I'm not sure why but if it's accurate then our triumph dealers make very little money selling bikes. After seeing this I would be happy to pay MSRP on a popular Triumph.

That is a very interesting link. I'd be curious to know how accurate it is. Because that doesn't seem like much of a profit margin to run a business on.

I don't buy it. While I was signing the paperwork with the "finace guy," he was telling me the story of him getting his 2011 T100. He said Triumph ran a "dealer special" where dealer personel could get a bike at cost plus $200, which he claimed was basically $6k. I know that's hersay, but... I still bet the invoice is closer to $6K than $8k.

Well that would make a lot more sense given the number of bikes I see leaving my dealer's floor. I fully admit to having no idea what the business model looks like for a modern bike shop but 10% (approx) doesn't seem like enough of a margin.

To help put things in perspective regarding your experience this is what I just went through:

Dealer 1. Said there were no 2012 Thruxton's in California. This was ******** as I had an OTD price worked out with a dealer in LA on a red one. So lie #1.

Dealer 2. said they have only 1 2013 Jet Black Bonnie in their warehouse and his boss "is on the phone with another guy about it right now" ********. They also didn't know what a Jet Black was and we talked about swapping covers so I could get it all black. Ugh! I only found out today there was a blacked out T100. I called another dealer and they have 2 in their warehouse. Coincedentally I came to find out they are sister dealerships and share the same inventory. ^@$^&@$

So the short of it is, dealers are full of ****. Drives me crazy every damn time I buy a bike I go through the same motions. Even if I tell em I've heard it before they start from the beginning. No or little inventory. Cost is MSRP plus X,Y,Z,.

I bought my Thruxton on 11/6/12. They were very upfront and honest with me with pricing, which was kind of refreshing. $8799 (MSRP) plus tax and nothing else. No setup,delivery, doc fees.

They also said these were hard to get. I don't know if this is true, but over 3 weeks later they still don't have another one on the floor.
