I dont know if anybody else has the same problem as me but mirrors have always been the bane of my life. OEM are always functional, but really ugly. Cheap ones are always a risk due to poor fit & quality and the top brands are stupidly expensive. There also seems to be a lack of reviews of the ebay ones apart from a few people saying "yeah, theyre alright"

Since in my opinion the stock Thruxton ones completely ruin the lines of the bike, and I couldnt get them to stay still, I decided to risk £16 on these Oberon copies...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-...ht_5674wt_1105

14 days later and they have arrived from Singapore. Initial impression is the quality is absolutely fantastic. flawless finish, the bolts are pretty substantial and when fitted and tightened the whole lot locks into place solid. Since I have fitted clip ons to my 2010 model I simply cut off the piece that slips into hollow bars so it bolts straight into the end. The only things ive needed to buy is bolts that screw into the clip ons as the ones that come with the mirrors are one size too big.

I think the Rizoma mirrors are of the best quality- a bit pricey though. I have the "Class" mirror on my Thrux and R80 and love the low profile look and the function is perfect.

Bar end mirrors make me a bit nervous as the restrict hand mobility; I want to be able to get my hand(s) off the bars by sliding them outwards if need be.

Yeah the seller also does them black. Theres heaps of other sellers doing identical mirrors in loads of colours.

Rizoma are class acts, as are LSL Spieglers. I also prefer standard mirrors over bar ends as the Thrux is a really slim bike and bar ends widens it massively. But the newer style controls dont have proper mounting holes for them. Well they do but they dont line up with each other.

I've gotten (2) sets off eBay of the Moto Delux mirrors which I believe are made in Germany. My stock mirrors gave me a great view, but like you, I felt they destroyed the looks of the bike. My only objection is they are too convex and make judging distance all but impossible. Even though it's always a good idea to turn your head and look, with mine it's essential!

Also, the Thruxton grips are already so narrow, the mirrors cramped my hands. So, I took a stack of fender washers and made bar end weights of sorts and picked up another 1/4" or so.

One of the several types of mirrors I've tried, like the look but just too small (and convex) for us oldies so can't see much once its more than 100 yards behind. went back to the Triumph barends the bike came with but modified so they don't stick out so far.

I have some ebay mirrors as well. They were black but over time (1 summer) they have faded to a weird bronzy color. I may take them apart and paint them.

I have the cheap chicom models.They are junk,the screws are all badly threaded,the finish is wearing too quickly,the glass is getting foggy and I am constantly tightening. In other words they are about all you can expect if you are dumb enough to buy junk for something as important as rear visibility
