May I request you exit the "toying with" stage and enter the "making a few" stage?

My local fabricator comes highly recommended, but you've already got it nailed.

a post ... 3yrs later!

hi,

did a lot .. a lot .. and really a lot of research in order to find something in order to get the skeleton/nude look on my EFI thrux. this is the closes I could trace, therefore, is it still for sale? do you make one for the EFI model?

to the rest of you guys ... any info out there to get the nude look? british customs promised this years ago but never came out with anything, Deus Ex looks like they stopped doing it, and I'm here watching these beautiful nude Thrux's and I cannot do anything to mine without buying the oh-so-important battery tray to start with the project.

thanks in advance!

G'day ragingspeed, as I haven't been able to get my hands on a EFI Thruxton to remove the seat, side covers etc. to have a good look at what would be required. The best I have been able to come up with is to make these tray's a bit deeper to accommodate the ECU and any extras that the carburettor models don't have. Would be good if someone could give these a go because I know some members with the EFI bikes are very Keen to get something. If you want more info pm me.

thanks for your soon reply ... therefore correct me if I'm misunderstanding you ... you have some sort of another prototype which may cater for the EFI ? If yes, then how can we test/see if it is good or not?

thanks once again,

Geoffrey

Geoffrey the tray for the EFI bikes shouldn't change from the original apart from being a bit deeper to accommodate the extra stuff that you EFI owners have, BUT!! if you can relocate your ECU and anything else that the carb bikes don't have then the tray would remain the same, hope that makes sense.
Cheers Lee

perfectly understood

however i could find nowhere else where to hide them especially the bulky ECU and also the ECU i assume is a sensitive expensive part which isn't worth risking showing it carelessly anywhere... i mean I would prefer it safe in the tray

Fityfive, I'm curious: how are you keeping all the grime and road dirt from hitting (and potentially damaging) your air filters? I'm considering doing this, but was concerned with the lack of mudguard potentially damaging all those exposed bits.

Best regards

I don't use my bike as a commuter it's purely for fun ! I don't ride in the rain therefore no grime to speak of, it stays very clean and nothing really gets carried around the tyre that far to cause any damage. I've switched from Uni filters to K&N they have the chrome end caps which may give a little more protection as well.
