Hey,

I'm really interested in the Corbin smuggler seat, but I have a couple of questions, and Corbin has not been responsive in answering them. First is ride height, can anyone tell me if the seat changes this from stock? I'm hoping its narrower in the front letting me reach the ground better. I can flat foot now with both feet if I'm in my boots, but barely. The second question, and very important to me - is the compartment big enough to put an iPad in it? Can anyone help me with these questions?

Not lower in the front, but lower in the center.

ipad I will not fit- just checked.

Corbin's generally have a sharper edge to their seats which doesn't help if you want a lower seat. Good luck if you deal with Corbin, their customer service is non existent if you have a problem with a seat.

Well it seems like from both of your responses I should forget the whole thing. I can't get them to return my emails or calls. I was thinking with an order and some money in their hands things would improve. But never mind.

I look at eBay and craigslist all the time for a used one. Not seen a single one yet. Plus my bike is red, which I imagine means I'd have a really hard time finding one.

Adam, I have a corbin on my thruxton. In fact every bike I have owned gets a Corbin.

I must agree with the customer service comments. I buy my seats in spite of them.
You are in LA. Make an appointment and ride up there, spend the night. The ride up highway 1 is great.
Once there they will make the seat ANYWAY you want. In addition they will buy your lunch at the dinner that is right there in the shop.
I like to go there in person so I can get the seat fitted correctly to my arse. I take the bike out for a ride before they put the leather on it to make sure it is exactlly what I want.
I pick out the exact piece of leather I want them to use and tell them the stitching I want.

Take the time to get involved. You will be much happier with the results.

I also have three corbin seats. Good product but after my run around I got with my r1100s seat I swore I would never spend another penny with them. Other companies are out there with quality products and way less attitude.

Mar, I thought about riding up there but I didn't think they could do it while I wait considering I'd need the diablo red paint match. Unless they stock it. But since they won't return my calls or email, I can't know this for sure. I have a real problem begging for people to take my business. But I love the ride up to northern cal...just did a ride to Santa Barbara via Los Angeles to Malibu to Santa Paula to Ojai. 90% twisty back roads!

Ordered the corbin smug online via the Florida connection, their email responses were good and eventually led to phone communication to make sure I got what I needed. I'm in Hawaii and heard about the Corbin Cali attitude, which may be the result of losing all the illegals that were working there back in 2008. The seat is adjusted to your inseam and sits low enough but is just a tad taller than the rock iron stock seat on the Bonnie SE. I love it and thanks to you I'll be getting the IPAD mini this Christmas
