any one catch the OCC guys in England episode??? Channel surfing last night and there is Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey touring the Triumph factory then off they go on some Triumphs the factory lent them. Odd that Paul Sr. rides off on a Bonnie and Mikey gets the Rocket although Sr. did have some nice words to say about the Bonnie.

I hope this doesn't just go to prove what a narrow-minded, grumpy sob I am, but.... I really can't take anymore of the Tuetles (Tootles whatever). I recently had the "opportunity" to see, in person, several of their creations. That stuff is thinly veiled trash. Period. They actually glued a bunch of bullets to the down tubes of the frame on the "air force" bike. That's real cool guys.

Therefore, as far as Paul Sr.'s opinion of a Bonneville or any other serious motorcycle goes, I'd rather listen to Ben Affleck's opinion on supreme court justices.

Enough.

I was just happy to see the factory and that Triumph took care of them. If anything, it helps to get the Triumph out there.

I agree many of their creations are pretty cheesy but they crack me up so i like watching the show. The factory was cool to see as was that British cycle museum. I think this custom chopper fad for the general public has 1-2 years left max - those grotesque creations people are paying 50k+ for today will be worth less than half of that when they get tired of them.

Paul Sr. sat on my Thruxton in New Paltz outside Starbucks one day. I got the feeling he liked it.

He is one big dude.

I have yet to see that show but I Tivo it so ill catch it later.

I myself don’t particularly like the bikes they make but I find the show to be very entertaining however scripted it may be.

In a past show Paul Sr had mentioned that he rode a Bonnie when he was younger.

Well i also dont think much of this whole chopper craze, but since i am not paying for them more power to the builders for getting away with legal highway robbery. Just a heads up for those who do enjoy watching the Three Stooges (spelling??) next week they will be attending the Ace Cafe Bike Rally and that should be interesting to watch.

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
Maybe now they might start building some real bikes and not just butt jewelry.

An old school bobber based on a new bonnie would be interesting.

I agree with most of the complaints about OCC (goofballs, ridiculous bikes, etc.) but you have to hand it to them. I talk to a lot of motorcycle shop owners, builders, industry folks and all credit shows like OCC, Jesse James' stuff, all the bike builder variants, with pumping up huge amounts of interest in motorcycles in general.

Sure the fake fighting gets old and I don't see the fun in riding something that can only go straight and make my ass hurt, but these shows are bringing more people into the fold. And if two wheels are your bread and butter you'd probably tip your hat to the OCC wacks too.

Just a thought.
